Thermal Management Materials

Thermal management formulations live or die on the filler: through-plane conductivity, dielectric behavior, packing efficiency, viscosity at load, and abrasion against dispensing equipment. GNPGraystar stocks the oxide, nitride, carbide and silica powders that formulators actually build with — across multiple morphologies (spherical, platelet, angular) and a full range of particle sizes — so the filler can be matched to the resin system, target bond line and thermal direction rather than the other way around.  GNPGraystar provides a ISO 9001:2015 certified quality system at AS9100 certified facilities.

Frequently Asked Questions

Effectiveness of a thermal filler can be improved using multi-modal size distributions to increase particle packing.  Also, particle morphology can further increase the particle packing, increasing the loading of the thermal filler to increase thermal conductivity.

Yes. GNPGraystar offers thermal fillers with different surface treatments to match with your resin system and target loading.  Silane surface treatments, which improve wetting in silicone, epoxy, and acrylic systems and can lower viscosity at high loading. We also offer rounded and spherical particle shapes, which flow better than angular powders.

Yes. GNPGraystar blends, screens, classifies, and cleans powders to customer specifications. This includes multi-size blends for higher packing density and top-size control for thin bond lines. If your process needs dedicated equipment, we’re open to building a line to support it.

Yes. Tell our sales team the material, grade, and quantity you need, and we’ll send samples with technical data sheets and any relevant certificate of analysis.

Yes. GNPGraystar can hold your material at our warehouses in North America and Europe so it’s on hand when your production team needs it.
