GNPGraystar’s Bubble Alumina is hard but extremely friable with respect to its pressure strength. The melting point of these white alumina bubbles is approximately 2,100° Celsius. Due to its hollow spherical shape, Bubble Alumina has a low bulk density and extremely low thermal conductivity. Bubble Alumina is also chemically inert.
Bubble Alumina is used to produce lightweight high temperature insulating bricks & shapes, to form porosity in high porosity abrasives and as a media to filter aggressive liquids or melts. Bubble Alumina also can be used as a bedding material in the firing process of ceramic materials.
