Fused Zirconia
The production of Fused Zirconia involved reacting zircon sand at 2,800° Celsius and any desired stabilizes in an electric arc furnace. The molten zircon dissociates into zirconia and silica. The silica is driven off and collected separately as a silica fume, leaving a high purity zirconia.
Fused Zirconia is available in Monoclinic or partially stabilized with either Magnesia, Yttria, or Calcia.
